A BEIJING-STYLE GATHERING

On the afternoon of April 26, LEAP celebrated the release of its April issue, “The State of Beijing: A Report,” with a launch party at Wu Jin. The party’s ambience was in sync with the afternoon heat, pushing Beijing’s temperature to above 30 degrees Celsius for the first time this year. The gathering, held in Jianchang Hutong, was the perfect “summer” kickoff for the Beijing-themed issue, hot off the press. Unlike most of Beijing’s art events, the launch party for LEAP’s “The State of Beijing: A Report” brought everyone inside the Second Ring, back to the old city center. Art professionals who are usually seen outside the Fourth Ring came together on Jianchang Hutong with beer and traditional snacks — a rare yet uniquely Beijing scene for the art world.

Beginning at 3 PM, Wu Jin's tiny space was packed with LEAP's friends, who gathered in Jian Guang Hutong for drinks and conversation.
